Guidelines for the preservation and cleaning of seals
Under proper storage conditions, rubber products can be stored for many years without changes in performance. On the other hand, unsaturated rubber will accelerate aging in a bad environment, leading to material failure.Generally, rubber products should be stored in a free state (not stretched or compressed), otherwise these external forces will cause permanent deformation or material cracking. For example: Do not hang seals on nails, and do not fold or roll seals to save space. In addition, the shelf life of rubber is affected by the following factors: heat, ozone, light, oxygen and humidity.
Temperature: 15 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius
Relative humidity: less than 65%
Light: It should be kept away from light, especially avoid direct sunlight, or artificial light sources containing a lot of ultraviolet rays
Ozone: Ozone can damage certain materials. The storage area should not have clicks or high-pressure equipment working (which generates ozone).
Air: The seal should be stored in a suitable bag or airtight container.Isolated from flowing air.Polyethylene packaging bags are ideal packaging materials.
In addition, do not make the seal contact with corrosive metal materials, such as copper, iron, and magnetic materials. For more details on the storage, cleaning, and maintenance of rubber products, please refer to DIN7716 and ISO2230 standards.
When cleaning, clean rags and cold water can be used (soap water is also acceptable), and organic solvents such as gasoline and benzene can not be used.Do not use tools with sharp edges: brushes or sandpaper.Do not dry the cleaned seals near a heat source. It is recommended to dry them at room temperature.
